Since launching Life Interrupted in 2024, we’ve had an incredible impact on the grief and sudden loss community. We’ve supported over 300 families through sudden loss, offering emotional support, resource navigation, and financial aid, along with children’s scholarships. Our work has looked different for every family. Sometimes it means coordinating cremations or helping plan a funeral, and sometimes it’s simply getting on the phone with someone who just lost the person they loved most, walking them through what happens next, or just being an ear when they need one to listen.

"Life Interrupted Foundation has been a source of hope for me during my darkest time.
My husband of 22 years passed suddenly of a heart attack in June of 2024. Alone with two children I was struck with the realization that his income stopped and bills kept coming. Eviction notice and disconnection notices came fast. I searched for help and most grants were geared toward specific occupations.
Then I found LIF and Emmy she told me they would help us. She told me they would be there for us and they were! We are beyond grateful for the donors and this life changing opportunity we were blessed with. We are not going to be homeless and my children will eat during our grieving. Emmy made all the calls and made sure we were going to be okay.

“Our life was interrupted by a tragedy that would change our family forever after our daughter’s life was taken by her husband, leaving behind two young children. The fight for justice and custody not only was emotionally and physically draining but affected our finances greatly.
Grief of such magnitude is hard to overcome. Getting out of bed daily is a struggle and yet the financial responsibilities keep rolling in every thirty days without a care in the world that your life is in shambles. You are never prepared to bury your child; this is not the order of how life should go. I remember thinking to myself so many decisions had to be made all at once. I didn’t even have time to breathe.
All I could do was write checks that were meant for other bills, but my daughter needed a place to be laid to rest and a place for her children to go visit their mom’s grave. Life Interrupted blessed our family with a grant that covered expenses for food and gas. This grant was more than just money for us. This grant gave us hope that good is still out there and people do care and are fighting alongside us in this grief journey. We are forever grateful for the grant we have been given.

MORE STORIES OF IMPACT
A cremation, coordinated and covered right away. When we learned that a family had lost their adult son suddenly, we stepped in immediately, coordinating and covering the cost of his cremation so they didn’t have to face that expense on top of their grief.
Months of stability after loss. After a woman lost her husband unexpectedly, she and her children were forced to leave their home. Life Interrupted covered several months of hotel accommodations, giving them the time and stability they needed to get back on their feet.
Honoring two losses. A woman reached out to us after losing both her son and her husband suddenly, within a short time of each other. We covered the remaining balance on their tombstone so she could honor her family the right way.
